Beyonce honors Trayvon Martin with moment of silence during concert

Beyonce is honoring Trayvon Martin following the not-guilty verdict that came in for George Zimmerman on Saturday night.  According to music blogger Dave Paulson from "The Tennessean," the superstar held for a moment of silence for Martin at her concert that night in Nashville.

Beyonce decided to honor the 17-year-old who died in the 2012 Florida shooting during the last moments of her sold-out show, just minutes after it was announced that Zimmerman had been cleared of all charges.

She followed up the moment of silence with a cover of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" and told the crowd at the Bridgestone Arena that it had been "a really special night."

Beyonce is also chiming in on the controversial verdict on social media.  On her Tumblr page, the star posted a photo of the word "Martin" hand-written, and also a Martin Luther King Jr. quote reading, "True peace is not merely the absence of tension, it is the presence of justice."
